James Paul McCartney was born in Walton Hospital where his mum was a nurse. He was the 4th in line to be called James, but they added Paul and seemed to call him that from when he went home. The McCartney family moved several times. Their first home was in 10, Sunbury Road, before they moved to Wallasey, and 92 Broadway Avenue. After a short stay there, they came back to Sir Thomas White Gardens in Everton, before heading to the outskirts of Liverpool to Roach Avenue in Knowsley. They then made the trek to the far south of Liverpool, to a new housing estate in Speke.
He was enrolled in Stockton Wood School before being moved to Joseph Williams School in Netherley. He was a good pupil and progressed to the Liverpool Institute Grammar School, where he met George Harrison. Of course, years later he would turn it into LIPA.
Paul and Music Liverpool inspired him in his music with Penny Lane, and his mum of course was commemorated in Lady Madonna and Let It Be amongst others. He also took the inspiration for Mother Nature's Son from his childhood visits to the village of Hale. BOOK YOUR PAUL MCCARTNEY TOUR HERE
